Camphill Communities is a nonprofit organization that provides holistic care, education and community living services to people with developmental disabilities. The Camphill mission is to create vibrant communities that change lives and enrich the world.
Project Goals
- Increase Camphill website visitors and application rates by 5x.
- Integrated a complex application system into the WordPress front-end while de-complexing it for front-end users.
- Create a website that visually represents Camphill’s approach to care, community, and visual identity.
- Provided meaningful information about Camphill Communities services and programs on the website, as well as an easy way for visitors to get in touch with the organization.
Methods and Solutions
To achieve these goals, we employed unique adaptive shapes and gradients that broke traditional design grids. This was representative of Camphill's philosophies of personhood and provided a distinct non-conformity to the design of the website. We integrated a complex application system that manages thousands of international applications into the WordPress front-end, which allowed for an easy user experience when applying for any one of their many programs.
Additionally, we sought to provide meaningful information about Camphill Communities services and programs in an easy-to-navigate format so that visitors could quickly gather all necessary information without having to search too hard.
Project Outcomes
Through our efforts, www.camphill.org has become a successful website with hundreds of daily visitors who are able to easily navigate through pages thanks to its clean interface and quick loading speeds from optimized images and high quality hosting sources. Applications to Camphill skyrocketed after launch.
Furthermore, our graphical elements have helped set this site apart from other similar sites in its category by providing visuals that are truly representative of Camphill's mission and values in order for visitors to get a better understanding of what they are all about right away upon visiting the site.
Finally, through incorporating their application system into WordPress, they now have access to thousands of potential applicants who can apply quickly and efficiently without any issues arising from technical difficulties or bugs within the system itself - something which was not possible before our work on this site was completed.
